It was the kind of day that you want to hold onto: memories shared, team spirit bonding, vision casting, light -hearted gathering around the fire pit, and Spirit-led discussions. As practice owners and visionary leaders of Agape Counseling Associates, Peaceful Pastures was an answer to our prayer for a local retreat site with everything needed for soul-weary counselors.

Delighted by its off -road location, we found it close enough for a short country drive tucked away from the chaos of Wilmington, and we were drawn into its wooded charm, finding it perfect for our retreat needs and our Agape Annual Gathering.

From the beginning stages of planning, we found Melanie and her staff ready to embrace our vision and adapt to our program.  As we created our schedule, she was helpful in providing guidance for the use of the prayer walk stations, and Equine activities, to address individual needs for personal reflection, spiritual discernment, and restorative care to our staff. Our program was beautifully and spiritually enhanced by each activity.

By day’s end, a final discussion around the firepit brought anticipated sharing from our staff. With fully satisfied hearts, they reflected on the elements of the day, sharing personal stories of reflection, laying hold of fresh vision, attending to some much-needed soul care.
